The Little Black Ant is a worker ant that is shiny dark brown to jet black in color. The queens are larger and have wings June thru August. Colony may have thousands of workers and multiple queens. The little black ant lives and nest primarily outdoors in decaying woods, tree stump, rock piles, or under any large object and in mulch. They will occasionally forage indoors. When they move indoors, they nest in wall voids, crack in basement or crawl space, under cabinets, in any electrical appliances.
Entry Points That Allow Little Black Ants Into Your Home
Ants often enter homes through tiny cracks, gaps around doors and windows, and openings near plumbing or utility lines. Once inside, they quickly create scent trails that lead other ants to food sources. Professional Ant Control in Aurora focuses on identifying these hidden entry points and sealing them to reduce future infestations. With targeted pest services, technicians inspect both interior and exterior areas to locate activity and stop ants before they spread throughout kitchens, basements, and living spaces.
